Digital Envelope Savings Challenge App

Challenge: Southern envisioned a mobile app that would digitally replicate the popular “envelope savings challenge,” where users allocate cash into physical envelopes for different savings goals. The challenge was to translate this tangible, physical process into a user-friendly digital experience that maintained the simplicity and motivation of the original concept. The app needed to be intuitive and engaging to encourage users to consistently save money.

Solution: Our S61 team partnered closely with Southern to grow their vision. We tackled several key development challenges:

• Gamification Elements: To keep users motivated, we incorporated gamification features like bonus incentives, progress bars, animations and customizable envelopes. These elements were carefully executed to align with the app’s core purpose of encouraging regular saving habits without overwhelming the user.
• Enhance with Innovation: Envie’s concept centered around introducing digital envelopes and challenges. S61 successfully developed and seamlessly integrated these new features into our Sidecore, creating a customized product for our client.

Outcome: The result was a highly intuitive and secure mobile app that successfully digitized the envelope savings challenge, making it accessible to a broader audience.
